Silva - Map Compass 5-6400/360 - 37585
The Silva 3S-360/6400 map compass is tailored for map work in the field and features gradual and artillery scales. The plate on which the compass sits is equipped with a magnifying glass to make it easier to read small elements of topographic maps. The compass needle is suspended from a sapphire bearing and works on a hardened pin, which ensures the stability of the indications during movement in the field.
The liquid-filled capsule has permanent north-south markings and a scale for setting declination, which allows correction of the difference between magnetic and geographic directions. The plate has a set of scales adapted to tourist and topographic maps. The layout of the orientation lines facilitates parallel alignment of the compass with respect to the map grid.
The fluorescent markings used support use in low light. A lanyard is included for carrying the compass around the neck or attaching it to a hiking backpack. The design of the compass is resistant to operation in humid environments, allowing its use when navigating in variable weather conditions.
Attention: The lanyard for the compass is included in the back of the package.
