The Leroy AUS-8 model by Schrade is a large knife for demanding outdoor tasks, from preparing kindling wood to clearing a path from dense vegetation. It features a clip-point profile blade made of oxidized stainless steel, which provides high corrosion resistance and reduces glare. The full-tang construction increases durability, while the pronounced choil, rider and finger serrations at the base of the blade increase grip security.

The handle is made of polymer with a non-slip rubber coating for a stable grip on the knife even in a wet hand. An injection-molded polymer holster is included for convenient carrying on the belt of tactical pants. At the end of the handle is a hole for a lanyard or cord for attaching the knife in a different way from the holster.
