Hop-Up Silicon Bucking

The Hop-Up bucking was made from silicon, which causes it to retain its qualities in low temperatures because it does not harden as is the case with ordinary rubber buckings. Intended for replicas with smaller power (equipped with a M120 spring or weaker), however it can be used with more powerful springs - the material deteriorates in such cases proportionately faster.

What is Hop-Up System?

Hop-Up is a system that provides BBs fired by an ASG replica with a spin. It uses the Magnus Effect to flatten the trajectory of a fired BB and thus makes it akin to that of a flight path of a real bullet fired from a live firearm.

In practice, it is an appropriately formed rubber or silicon bucking that by touching a propelled BB gives it a spin. The simplest explanation of Hop-Up system’s operation is that a spinning BB on the one hand causes more friction with air, which allows it to turn. When the spin occurs in horizontal plane, the BB can turn upwards, therefore counteracting the force of gravity.

The strength with Hop-Up bucking is pressed against a BB determines the amount of spin and, as a result, the lift. The heavier a BB, the stronger pressure of the bucking required (since a heavy BB has a more significant inertia and more quickly falls down). This also is true in reverse - if a light BB receivers too much spin, it will fly above the line of fire.
