The Tauron 5-40x56 ED advanced rifle scope from Vector Optics offers variable magnification in the 5-40x range with a true magnification of 8x. It is equipped with a VTA-8 MIL type target reticle with illuminated dot embedded in the foreground (FFP). It scales with the zoom and reaches its largest dimensions at maximum magnification.
Superimposed lines on the reticle make it possible to judge the distance to the target and its size, as well as subsequent manual correction for bullet drop. Corrections can be made through turrets that adjust the sight vertically and horizontally with a special extension that acts as a locking device. The adjustment is made by 1/10 MIL per click within a range of 25 MIL horizontally and 12 MIL vertically.
The 56mm diameter lens with ED glass lenses features a high visible light transmission coefficient. In addition, the lens has an FMC coating to reduce flare. Which, combined with the increased distance from the eye, allows unobstructed observation of the target and surroundings. The sealed 6061 T-6 aluminum body meets the IP67 waterproof rating standard.
The scope's design has been filled with nitrogen gas, making its lenses resistant to internal evaporation. In addition, the unit can withstand shocks of up to 1000 G. The eyepiece can be adjusted in diopter angle from -2 to +2.
A Weaver rail mount, compatible with a 34mm diameter tube, is also included. When the scope is not in use, it's a good idea to cover it with a neoprene scope cover. The objective lens focus can be adjusted with a dial from 15 yards to infinity.
