Primary Arms by Holosun - Collimator HE509 Solar Powered - ACSS Vulcan - HE509-RD-ACSS-R
The Holosun Micro Red Dot HE509-RD is a solar-powered compact pistol collimator that utilizes the Solar Failsafe solar panel power system. Additionally, it features a Shake Awake battery-saving system and an ACSS Vulcan aiming reticle. Thanks to its dimensions, enclosed design, and lightweight, it is suitable for both sport and combat shooting.
The HE509-RD employs a horizontal button layout, which facilitates the activation of Lock Mode. When activated, it disables button operation, preventing accidental changes to the sight settings. The body of the Micro Red Dot HE509-RD collimator is made of milled 7075 T6 aluminum. Being crafted from a single piece ensures high strength and correspondingly low weight.
The unit is equipped with a side-sliding tray that allows for easy replacement of the dedicated CR1632 collimator battery in the field, without removing it from the weapon. The collimator is mounted on the gun using a steel plate, compliant with the 507C mounting standard. To protect the glass lens, the manufacturer used a multi-layer anti-reflective coating with a high VLT coefficient.
A key feature of the HE509 collimator is its ACSS Vulcan aiming point. Instead of the traditional red dot, the system uses a chevron (inverted V) mark, allowing the target to be aimed with its tip. The chevron is supported by a large circle with an option to turn it off, which is useful when moving between targets.
Features:
- Pistol collimator with ACSS Vulcan reticle
- Additional power supply in the form of a solar cell
- Built-in solar cell allows operation even with a discharged battery
- Enclosed sight design protects the emitter from fouling
- Economical power management allows up to 50,000 hours of operation on a single battery
- Target point display based on a single LED
- Operates in automatic (default) or manual mode
- Light sensor that adjusts the intensity of the dot depending on the light conditions
- Lens with multilayer coatings
- No parallax phenomenon
- Motion sensor to wake up the device from sleep mode
- Memory function for the last used aiming mark and its intensity
- Low battery indication (target mark starts flashing slowly)
- Lightweight and durable 7075 T6 aluminum housing
- Meets the requirements of IP67 protection class
The Holosun HE509-RD collimator with ACSS reticle does not have the same base as the 509T (models without ACSS reticle), which means it is not compatible with the mounting plates dedicated to the Holosun 509T. In addition, the included 509c mounting plate is not compatible with ZEV or Shadow Systems style RMR interfaces.
The lens on my collimator is crooked, should it be like this?
Yes, for closed collimators, where the emitter is placed at 4 o'clock, the lens must be skewed to properly reflect the light towards the user's eyes.
