Lesovik - SMUK Suspension

The SMUK suspension is designed for quick and convenient hammock hanging. The core of the system consists of ropes with a strength of 660 kg, which form adjustable tie-downs, known as whoopie slings – they can be shortened or extended, with an adjustment range of 60-300 cm, optimal for effectively suspending a hammock. An instruction manual is included with the set.

Whoopie slings are a solution borrowed from arboriculture, where appropriately spliced ropes serve as a safety element for working at height. The splicing of the rope itself, which determines how the system works, is done manually according to techniques used in sailing.

Dyneema ropes are connected with carabiners to polyester straps, which, when wrapped around a tree, form "tree huggers" – a secure attachment point that does not damage the bark. Loops are sewn into the ends of the straps, into which the carabiner is clipped.

Thanks to the easy installation of the straps on the tree and full adjustment of the tie-downs, the hammock can be freely adjusted after it has been hung, rather than before, as with ordinary ropes or straps. No more hanging your hammock "by eye"!

SMUK significantly speeds up the setup and pack-down of a hammock camp. Not only does this allow for more time for a peaceful rest, but it also greatly simplifies the process itself – SMUK will always be equally easy to use, regardless of our fatigue or weather conditions.

For the suspension, we used the best available materials, achieving low weight and very high durability. The load-bearing straps, made with technology identical to automotive seat belts, are characterized by extremely long lifespan and zero stretch.

Ropes made of 100% Dyneema fibers, additionally impregnated, are incredibly light and strong – with a strength of up to 660 kg! Aluminum carabiners, certified by the manufacturer for up to 600 kg, are easy to use thanks to their non-locking gate.

The suspension fits easily with the hammock in a standard cover. Replacing hammock ropes with SMUK is a matter of 3 minutes of work, and the system fits all our models – all information is in the instruction manual included with the set. Through careful selection of used materials, we reduced the weight of the SMUK system by approximately 30 g (18%) compared to competitive solutions of the same type.
