The Iris laser target indicator in the form of a compact module from Holosun. It is mounted on a Picatinny rail with screw-clamp jaws. The Iris module has four illumination modes with two levels of intensity. Basically, the user has a green laser, then an IR laser, then an IR illuminator, and finally a combination of laser and IR illuminator.
The device uses a CR123A battery for power, whose low level is indicated by a red LED. The body of the indicator is made of aluminum, where its components exposed to moisture have been sealed to meet the IPX8 standard. For precision, the user can adjust the projected beam both vertically and horizontally.
The 520 nm green laser is versatile, making it suitable for most situations due to its good contrast with the environment. The 850-nm IR laser and illuminator allows you to operate in limited light conditions when using night vision equipment. Various night vision devices will gain additional functionality by being integrated with an additional IR illumination module.
Located in the center of the body, the gently convex button is ergonomic to use. This translates into convenient use by both right- and left-handed users. In addition, the user receives a gel button on the cable in the package with the indicator. It allows you to place the switch in the most optimal place for each user.
The redesigned design of the device in relation to the second generation allowed to achieve a significantly lower profile and lighter weight. The mode and intensity selector is located on the back of the indicator, which can be easily manipulated with the thumb or another finger. When the emitter is not needed, the user can store or carry it in a softly padded carrying case with dedicated space for each component.
