The cut and pocket layout allow them to remain civilian enough not to disclose the wearer’s identity, while still allowing a full set of tactical equipment to be worn. An elastic, Velcro-closed belt allows for a degree of adjustment within the size. Large belt loops accommodate wide belts like EDC, UTL® or Cobra®. Plus, the cut (borrowed from blue jeans, out of all things to choose from) prevents the shorts from slipping down when worn.

By judiciously arranging the pockets, equipment can be placed close to the center mass, around the hips and waist. Front and rear pocket edges are reinforced to withstand constant movement of light or knife clips.
