Lithium-ion-polymer ( LiPo ) packs are the successors to the well-known lithium-ion ( LiIon ) packs. The main advantage of LiPo batteries is undoubtedly their capacity-to-size ratio. They are very small in size while retaining a very high current capacity, which makes it possible to select a suitable pack for practically every AEG replica. They do not have a memory effect. They can be charged very frequently, without first being discharged. Frequent charging is beneficial for this type of battery.

It is important to remember not to discharge a LiPo pack below 3V per cell and not to overcharge it above 4.2V per cell. Another advantage of LiPo packs is the low self-discharge percentage.
