BOLT Airsoft B4A1 carbine replica
BOLT Airsoft B4A1 carbine replica
The B4A1 carbine airsoft gun manufactured by the Taiwanese BOLT Airsoft company is undoubtedly a huge step forward in the evolution of AEG replicas. Thanks to the application of innovative solutions, ??it finally became possible to eventually approximate the experience felt by an AEG replica user to those that are offered by a GBBR type replica - that is, in a nutshell, the BOLT Airsoft company has created a carbine replica that really "kicks" as it should.
The airsoft gun is made from high quality materials and with the utmost attention to details. All metal components were made from T6 aluminum alloy, which is characterized by very high durability, similar to that of some steel alloys. These properties were achieved thanks to saturation and the aging of the material. What is worth mentioning, T6 aluminum alloy corrosion occurs only in contact with strong acids - this provides a significant resistance of the airsoft gun to the typical weather conditions found on the airsoft battlefield.
The fitting of elements does not raise any objections. There is no backlash even between the upper and lower half of the body, which frequently is a quite characteristic and often occurring flaw of other models, even those of well-known manufacturers. Providing the airsoft gun with diversified colouring is also an interesting procedure. Instead of a deep black, which is often found in various airsoft guns, here we have several shades of black and steel colour of the barrel and many other small elements. This allows to give the airsoft gun a more realistic look, which is much more closer to the real steel version. This effect is further intensified by the use of special paint to cover the airsoft gun, which gives it the effect that the surface has a slightly grainy texture.
The airsoft gun is provided with a multi-position buttstock and a carry handle mounted on the RIS rail. Once we dismount the abovementioned handle, we are able to attach any given type of optical sights, e.g. red dots or tactical scopes.
As regards the quality of internal components, it is very important to emphasize the fact that the gearbox construction used in the airsoft gun is based on the components manufactured by another well-known Taiwanese company - LCT. The products of the LCT company are known for their durability and reliability, which in return guarantees long and trouble-free operation of the set. The gearbox is equipped with a metal cylinder head, a metal piston head, and a sealed nozzle. The whole operates perfectly with the M120 nonlinear spring.
Undoubtedly, the greatest advantage of this airsoft gun is the system that simulates the recoil and lock operation. This system consists of two independent elements: a standard mechanism that imitates the operation of the lock, which can be found in most EBB airsoft guns and a separate system mounted inside the stock tube. The latter consists of a spring, an inertia element and a unit which transfers the energy of the piston onto the inertia element. The experience offered by the application of this system cannot be compared with anything previously offered by the manufacturers of serial AEG replicas. The unit is provided in a separate box; not mounted in the airsoft gun – the B4A1 can also operate without it.
A further significant fact is that, despite some structural differences enforced by the use of the Blow Back system, the airsoft gun is largely compatible with the v.2 standard established by TM. In fact, the only significant difference is the piston with a characteristic notch. However, the piston is equipped with a set of metal teeth, which guarantees high durability of the element. The fact that the other gearbox parts are compatible with the standard ones ensures easy tuning of the airsoft gun, as well as easy access to spare and service parts if needed.
Another equally important aspect is the fact that the replica uses standard magazines modeled on the STANAG standard – therefore, it does not require the purchase of specialized and expensive magazines; B4A1 works seamlessly with magazines made by popular companies, such as Boyi or JG.
